Clean Sweep for MKG at NFS

The National Fruit Show 2011 saw MKG sweep the board when it came to the best fruit on show.

The coveted Covent Garden Prize for the best overall exhibit went to J.A. and N.J. Bardsley with their Conference pears which gained an impressive score of 99/100. They also won the Podger Norton Prize for the best culinary apples, the Bayer Rose Bowl for the best pears and two Fruiterers Company Medals for their Conference pears and Bramley apples.

Another MKG – J.A. Colthup and Partners – won the Roderick Sarson Memorial Trophy for the best all-round exhibit of apples, won with the farm’s Cameo variety which also gained a monumental 99/100 score. In addition they won the Stokes Bomford Rose Bowl for the best exhibit of dessert apples and a Fruiterers Medal.

These results confirm MKG’s dedication to growing what many consider to be the best top-fruit not only in the UK but in the world.
