Selson Farm sits in a gentle valley on the eastern edge of the North Downs in Kent. It consists of 45 acres of apples, pears, cherries and asparagus with another 25 acres let out for growing cereals. Both David’s parents come from farming families and he is the fourth generation to farm in East Kent.

Our most recent member, Arthur is new to the fruit business as the proud owner of Toll Fruit Farm at Egerton, where he grows Cox, Russet and Gala apples.
He is exploring ways of using Toll as a “care farm”; helping those in recovery from addiction or generally struggling in life.

William and David are apple and pear growers for MKG, with Cox, Gala, Braeburn and Kanzi apples and Conference and Williams pears grown on three sites in the Wingham area.

The Stickells family have farmed in Ash for over 100 years, having arable and top fruit interests. the fruit, principally Conference, Gala and Braeburn, is now managed by Andrew Armstrong.

A family farm run by father and son, Robert and Jack who have successfully grown Early Windsor (early variety not commonly grown commercially). They will be increasing the ha of this variety over the next few years and continue to grow a small amount of other fruit.

This is a family run business over three sites. They grow a wide range of soft fruit as well Cox, Bramley and Conference Pears and are planting new variety Rubens for the future.

The Colthup family farm is in an AONB of the North Downs. They have a packhouse which grades members fruit and grow mainly Gala, Rubens, Bramley and Cameo apples.

Since 1929 the Chambers family have been growing fruit at Northiam Farm. Mike and George run the farm and have 15 cold stores to store top fruit (9 have regulated atmospheres for long-term storage) and a modern packhouse which grades MKG members’ fruit. Discovery, Worcester, Cox, Gala and Bramley apples and Conference and Comic pears are grown.
