…and it rained, and it rained.
Although we expect rain over Winter, the volume of rain over the last two months is causing considerable problems for our growers.
The thick mud prevents the use of farm equipment. There are trees that needs to be planted, orchards to be maintained and established trees that need pruning and treatments prior to the first bud.
Lets hope for a dry spell soon.

Well the new English Apple season has been launched with Discovery now readily available in all the major stores, crisp and juicy and best kept in your fridge to prolong its shelf life. Watch out for that old favourite Worcester, the sweet strawberrylike flavour does not disappoint and also two newer earlier varieties in Red Windsor and Robijn, both high class apples with good sugars and a good crunch.
The English weather is perfect for achieving good flavour and as always the quality is second to none, so as the saying goes ‘Polish up your English’.
